SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

Making sure it all fits together

Integrating software, firmware, and hardware systems requires detailed knowledge of how each interact with the others. Quick learning and familiarization of each system is essential as is the ability to develop concise, realistic, and test-able requirements.

MECHANICAL DESIGN

Make it strong, cheap, and fast

Simple solutions to complex problems involve clever design, extensive simulation, proper material selection, validation testing, and working relationships with manufacturers.

TEST ENGINEERING

Making sure it works

Requirements validation requires a full understanding of what a product needs to do and what it should not do. Engineering testing pushes a product to its limits and evaluates new technologies for possible integration.

PROJECTS

MULTI-HEIGHT STACKING TOTES

Rotating these totes 90 degrees with respect to each other allows them to nest within each other at 4 different heights (one for each orientation). Storage space is saved while using only a single tote design without the need for managing an inventory of different sized totes.

ROBOTIC MEZZANINE AND LIFT SYSTEM

I was both project manager and product manager for this integration of the Kiva Robotic System and a multi-level mezzanine and lift. As project manager, I coordinated the contractor and vendor installation and commissioning of this project. As product manger, I was responsible for writing product requirements for the design and installation of future mezzanines and concrete flooring systems.

KIVA BOT TESTING

From prototype to production, I was responsible for verification test plan development and execution. Along the way, I implemented a product requirement and test plan trace-ability and review system (Jama Contour) to support the validation testing.
